Boeing Posts Surge in September Jet Deliveries

(MENAFN) Boeing reported Tuesday that it delivered 55 commercial aircraft in September, a sharp rise from the 33 delivered in the same month last year and well above its five-year average of 40 for September.

Leading the surge were 40 units of the 737 MAX, underscoring the model’s continued rebound following its production disruptions in recent years. Also included in the total were seven 787 Dreamliners, four 767s, three 777 freighters, and one 737 NG.

By comparison, Boeing had delivered 87 aircraft in September 2018, prior to the two fatal 737 MAX crashes that severely disrupted its output and reputation.

Cumulatively, the U.S. aerospace giant handed over 440 planes from Jan. 1 through Sept. 30 — a substantial increase from 291 during the same nine-month period in 2024. In the third quarter alone, Boeing delivered 160 aircraft, up from 116 in Q3 2024.

Meanwhile, rival Airbus maintained its lead with 73 deliveries in September. The European manufacturer has delivered 507 jets year-to-date through September.
