Zelensky Claims Russian Satellites Helped Iran Target US Base in KSA
Zelenskyy said the Prince Sultan Air Base was photographed on March 20, 23, and 25, and added that Iran launched an attack on March 26, wounding ten US service members, two of them seriously, and damaging several refueling aircraft, as stated by reports.
"I don't believe -- I know -- that they share information," Zelenskyy said, asserting that he is "100%" sure Russia is assisting Iran. Based on Ukraine's analysis of Russian reconnaissance behavior, he explained that an initial image indicates planning, a second simulates an operation, and a third suggests an attack is imminent within a day or two.
Zelenskyy also cautioned that Russian President Vladimir Putin stands to gain financially from a prolonged conflict in the Middle East, particularly after the temporary US suspension of sanctions on Russian oil aimed at easing global energy pressures. Putin "will get more money, much more money, and he will put this money to weapons," he added.
These statements come amid growing apprehension about cooperation between Russia and Iran. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi acknowledged that Moscow provides military support to Iran "in many different directions," without clarifying whether this assistance includes intelligence regarding US forces, according to reports.
