US Primaries Underway as Trump-Backed Candidate Faces Massie in Kentucky
(MENAFN) Voters in several US states headed to the polls Tuesday for primary elections ahead of the November midterm contests, with one of the most closely watched races unfolding in Kentucky, according to reports.
The spotlight has centered on the Republican primary involving Thomas Massie, who is facing challenger Ed Gallrein in a contest heavily influenced by Donald Trump and his allies.
Gallrein has received endorsements from Trump and several senior figures linked to the former administration, as the president seeks to unseat Massie from the House of Representatives.
